The people involved with Metapra have a long history in human services. Examples include working with:
* People who have significant physical and/or mental disabilities, to help them find employment.
* Children and parents needing specialized supports.
* Youth who are having difficulty in school improve their situation through tutoring.
* People who have experienced mental health issues to get their lives back in order.
* People who need rehabilitation after a brain injury.
* People who need somewhere to live and supports in living as independently as possible.
* Organizing groups of people who have a common problem but need mutual help in getting started and achieving community goals.
* There are a variety of support programs that are designed to provide financial supports. Most people experience frustration or are overwhelmed by the challenge of approaching government offices for help. The system can feel very complicated and unresponsive.
* The resource people at Metapra have been connecting people with community and government resources in the Carleton, Victoria and York regions since 1978. We stay up-to-date with current changes and track down the right person to listen and respond.
* We can help you work through and make arrangements for coverage of expenses involved. |
