Executive Summary
Our company offers consulting, management and direct services in the areas of human services, education and community development. Metapra's key defining feature is the innovative use of personalized and customized, community based supports and training. Its associates understand the importance of staying abreast of political, social, educational and economic trends. Furthermore, there is a commitment to serving the "common good" and believing that all people have a rightful place in the larger community irregardless of social position or disability. Therefore, Metapra can be described as an innovative and socially responsible company committed to improving people's situations as well as the communities they live in.
This incorporated entity's structure is designed for adaptive response to individual needs and challenges. The proven advantages of our structure are:
* Collaboration with people in environments they are familiar with rather than the traditional professional office and center based arrangements which requires that the person must begin in an unfamiliar environment in order to access services.
* More of the service costs can be channeled into direct client services.
* Diverse plans and goals can be adapted to the person's need rather than the person's needs having to fit the service.
* Flexibility that focuses on outcomes rather than management controls and procedures.
These services include:
* Linkage between individuals, families and resources needed to help develop options to assist people in achieving their goals. * Linkage between communities and provincial universities to develop educational options currently unavailable. * Establishing and supporting residential options for people who need specialized living supports. * Providing training and support for youth who need mentoring and/or employment readiness training. * Providing programming and ongoing support to people who are coping with various mental and physical disabling conditions. * Partnering with local government agencies and community based agencies to identify areas of social-economic development need and working toward solutions.
The company was formed in 1996 and its service has evolved from primarily a research and teaching company, to a diverse range of human service and educational options, as outlined above. The founder, Hugh Williams, collaborates with his partner and wife, Stephanie Williams to further expand the expertise the company can offer. The company employs several highly experienced human service counselors who bring a range of strengths and talents to the field. This company, serving south Carleton and North York counties, has 25 years of experience in the region using innovative, successful approaches in working with adults and youth in the area.
The associates at Metapra are engaged in:
* Services as a registered service provider with the Department of Social Development (DSD), for both children and adults. * Developing and supervising adaptive support programs for people having long-term disabilities. * On going management of a residential home in the Woodstock region for disabled adults.
